Who was Judy Garland? A girl, a person, an actress, a wife, a mother, but who really was Judy Garland and where did she come from.

She was born June 10, 1922 in Grand Rapids, MN. Her real name was Frances Gumm. Her family was rather odd. Her father was Francis Avent Gumm who was a Vaudeville performer, and a closeted homo. Which got them kicked out of several towns. Her mother was Ethel Marion Milne and she, too, was a Vaudeville performer, who forced her daughter into stardom. She had two siblings. The first was Dorothy Virginia Gumm, who was born July 4, 1917, and died May 27, 1977. The second was Mary Jane Gumm, who was born September 24, 1915, and died May 27, 1964. She took dance at Meglin Dance Studio, and after grade school, she went to Hollywood High.

So she wound up competing for a job with one other person named Deanna Durbin.The job was a radio show called MGM. As for relationships she married band member David Rose on July 28, 1941, and divorced in 1943, but was only finalized in 1944, and because she was peer pressured into aborting a child. She then became a mistress while dating married man, Tyrone Power. After that she dated Joseph L. Mankiewicz. All in the year of 1943. Then she dated a man named Vincente Minnelli, who she married on Jan. 9, 1945. She then had her first child March 12, 1946, and named the baby girl Liza Minnelli. After that she had an affair with Russian actor Yul Brynner, only to try getting her failing marriage back on it’s feet, after she was dumped. Unfortunately, She never got her marriage back together and got a lover named Sidney Luft. She finalized her divorce with Vincente Minnelli on March 29, 1951,
