Who Is Kevin Gates?
Kevin Gates is a Down- South rap artist born in New Orleans but raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. According to Kevin he grew up living with his grandmother because he was too much for his mother to handle. Kevin wasn’t the best kid growing up being in and out of jail since he was 13 but was still able to get his Masters in Psychology while incarcerated. Not like other rappers Kevin doesn’t consider his music rap but rather “Reality Music”. Dealing with different cases of Depression recording music for Kevin is somewhat of a release for him.
After being released from prison in 2011, Kevin decided prison wasn’t for him anymore and decided to make music his main focus. Hard work and dedication built Kevin’s buzz and following
