Healthcare systems in the United States struggled with other countries two basic aspects of health care finance and delivery. The US spends more money on insurance than any other country. In fact, The Affordable Care Act was implemented to allow a market for people to have access to insurance at an affordable rate. To achieve the goal of universal coverage of health insurance the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed into law. The Affordable Care Act’s core achievement is to give health insurance to countless Americans, regardless of their income or health status. The act also increases coverage to expand Medicaid and cover people living near the poverty line. The Affordable Care Act subsidized private insurance for people who are not poor but did not have insurance in the workplace. The act expanded countless pilot programs with Medicaid and Medicare, which show how the hospital and physicians are paid for services rendered. The ACA is an incomparable competitor in the insurance market because it aims a providing high quality health care with a limited out of pocket cost. Davis, a fifty five year old who has The Affordable Care Act as her health insurance. I started the interview by asking Mrs. Davis, about what made her choose the ACA as her health insurance. She explained that who previously had insurance but it is no longer offered at her place of employment, she describes her emotional story.
