Did you know that every 1 of 3 American has reported having a firearm in their household?(Fox) When many people think of guns they automatically think of a bad person or death when really guns can be used for many fun sports or activities. Guns have always intrigued me because of the way they work and how they are made. I feel I have a good experience with firearms considering that I am a owner of 5 myself. Most people put firearms into three groups, rifles, shotguns, and handguns, depending on the use, style, and type of ammunition. The first gun many people think of is a rifle. A rifle is defined as a firearm with a rifled or spirally cut grooves barrel, a stock or shoulder brace, and shoots a single projectile. Some uses of a rifle are military and hunting uses. Some requirements are that it has to have a pistol grip and it can't have a stock or shoulder rest. The handgun is most commonly used as a self defensive gun or a concealed carry gun. Many people carry a handgun on their person when heading someplace though a sketchy place or in a big city. You have to get a permit and complete other requirements to be able to get the concealed weapons permit. The main use of a handgun in the military is to have as a secondary weapon in case they encounter an enemy. Many police officers carry a handgun on their side in case they need it. The handgun is a multi use weapon that is reliable and easy to use. Now that you have learned something about each of the three guns you can have a better aspect on guns and weapons. Guns can be a fun way to have bonding time with your children or others. Guns aren't always a deadly or scary thing, they can teach young children respect and responsibility.
