Being raised on a farm in such a rural area such as Monroe County, West Virginia meant learning how to use a firearm was almost more of a necessity than a passion. However, for myself it happened to be both. I love to hunt all sorts of game such as: deer, squirrel, turkey, and dove to name a few. Hunting all these animals obviously requires the use of several different types and calibers of guns. My dad, a gun enthusiast as well, taught me from a very young age the dangers of a firearm as well as proper technique to handle such. Years upon years of experience around a substantial and very diverse amount of weapons have taught me proper technique, etiquette, and formality when using, or around others using firearms. While becoming comfortable with and around guns is a lifestyle where I am from, becoming to comfortable around them, as you will sound find out, can turn into a dangerous nightmare.

Once we got there we all got in Heath police cruiser and stormed off toward the hospital. With every car we came up on Heath turned on his blue lights so we could get around them. A twenty minute drive to the energy room felt like two hours. The more time that past after the accident, the more my adrenaline wore off and the pain drastically increased. My handed started to uncontrollably clinch shut with the pain. Seth had to pull my fingers back, which he told me later, was no easy task. We finally arrived at the hospital and rushed in the doors as the gash started to bleed profusely again. Once we get in I was taken into the Back rooms where they cleaned the wound and took three X-rays making sure there was no damage to the bone. After the x-rays came back clean, they played me down to stitch up my hand. In went the numbing shot as I squeezed Seth’s hand as tightly as I could to help cope the pain. It took five very painful stitches to close the
