First, energy drinks are popular to athletes. They say it helps them to be productive and energetic all day. But most athletes doesn’t care what are the ingredients in an energy drinks, when they heard the word “energy drink” automatically they’ll think it will help them to be productive but they don’t know “an eight ounce can of energy drink has 110 calories, 27g sugar, and 80 milligrams of caffeine compared to 55 milligrams of soda” (Anderson). That explains that energy drinks contains a lot of caffeine than our body should take in a week. The question is, how many cans of energy drink do you drink a day? We all know that caffeine is addictive. Let’s do some calculation, you always buy energy drink before, after lunch, and after school. That means you drink 3 energy drinks in a day, so you consumed 3 cans of energy drinks and it totals 240 mg of caffeine. “Half of the energy drinks sold are consumed by teen and young adults” (Anderson). That’s too much caffeine for a young student to take every day!
