Cancer Many, if not all of us have heard of cancer. Several of us may even have family members or friends that fight or died of cancer. My mother’s step-mother passed away due to colon cancer. She was misdiagnosed several times but by the time they found the cancerous cells, they had spread and could not be stopped. Cancer has caused a lot of pain for the victims and the family/friends of the victims. Cancer is a noncommunicable disease of abnormal cells uncontrollably reproducing. These abnormal cells can build up and form a tumor. Not all tumors are cancerous but most are. Each type of cancer has different symptoms but the most common ones are: abnormal bumps, extreme weight loss or gain, coughing up blood, and skin discoloration. Most of the time people do not notice symptoms until they have full on cancer. They can either hit you slowly or very sudden out of the blue. There are different treatments for different types of cancers. The most common and first option is surgery to remove the cancerous cells/masses/tumors. Chemotherapy is another common choice.
