I am going to argue that child soldiers should be portrayed as victims. I say this because they are too young to be handling weapons, drugs, and lives. They are forced to kill with drugs, war movies, sexual abuse and even death. They don’t know anything better than to listen to orders and go ahead and follow them like they were told. It’s crazy that the idea of prosecuting child soldiers is even considered, they are victims of these war crimes! They don’t know anything better to do than to listen to what they are being told. And it’s not like a lot of them join for the fun of it, they are literally plucked off of the streets and taken away from family/home.

But I still really doubt that a kid belongs in prison. Prison is for the mentally insane and for the people who violated or surpassed many laws or carried out something extreme. A place of this nature is where criminals should go. Child soldiers are victims of war crimes because they are kidnapped, drugged, abused, and just told what to do, and they listen because they are threatened by all this. To illustrate this to you I’ll explain it like this. Say I If was playing Battlefield on Xbox and I’m going around killing people and then you are going around and blaming the ingame character for the crime of killing someone, in this case it would be me because I’m controlling the character, same goes for this, generals hype the children up on drugs so they comply to actions with ease, so the generals are controlling their little tike soldiers through drugs, and yet the person who is giving these orders out is not guilty. When was the last time you saw a nine year old shoot up a block in a city, you’re right, never, they would never normally carry anything ridiculous like this out. Point

They were succumbed to do these things with the thought that they were doing the right thing. The article states, ““Child soldiers should not be prosecuted on account of what they have done but should rather be rehabilitated and given a second chance to re enter society as a human beings”(IRIN). This is significant because it shows tells the idea of how child soldiers were not treated as human beings but rather as objects that the army uses at their own expense without a care in the world. Perhaps if we were to take a look into their world we would understand the frustrations of being a child soldier and not being able to help yourself or others.…

First off, the children are forced into it. They are threatened with being guns and other weapons.…
