I have chosen to do my Essay on Breast cancer, So many women and men have been affected by this disease, and it has taken way too many lives. Breast cancer touched my family when my mom was diagnosed with this Disease when I was 13 years old. It took a toll on her body like nothing I have ever before seen. She had stage 3b, and during her time of treatment, I watched her fight for her life. Not only my mom has breast cancer but her sister also battled this disease, and also on my father’s side both of his sisters have breast cancer. So I am sure you can understand my concern about this

All of the cells start to turn into a tumor. “The tumor starts to become malignant if the cells can grow into surrounding tissue or spread to different parts of the body”. (American Cancer Society,2017, Para 1) It is also common to have lumps in your breast that are not cancer that could be fatty tissue. “Breast Cancer may start from different parts of the woman breast. When my mom realized she had breast cancer she did not feel a lump at all, but she had notices a large indentation in her breast almost like half of her breast was caved in. You should constantly exam your breast and your nipples. If your nipples turn inward or have a weird discharge that is blood or milky and you are not pregnant or breastfeeding that is a cause for concern. If your skin texture changes on your nipples or breast and becomes hard or like an orange peel you should talk to your doctor. If one of your breasts becomes much larger than the other one you should also talk to a medical professional. It is normal for one breast to be slightly a different size but not abnormally different. Not all lumps in your breast are breast cancer. Some women have fatty tissue, or around the time of your menstrual cycle you may notice what feels like lumps but that is totally normal. However if you do feel something out of the ordinary do not be afraid to talk to your
