Amsterdam is a country that held many Jews including Anne Frank at the time of World War 2. In 1947 Germans arrested these Jews in Amsterdam and deported them to the first ever concentration camp and Anne Frank and her family went into hiding in the secret annex. Life in Amsterdam for Jews and was no longer a safe place for them. Many sections in the city were banned from Jews and stateless Jews were immediately Transported to the Westerbork Transit camp. After Hitler’s raid on Amsterdam, the city that was heavily populated Jews now only have some Jews in hiding. Anne Frank was a Jewish girl who was born around the time of WW2 and wrote a Journal about her experiences as Jew in WW2. Anne was born in Frankfurt Germany In 1929 and soon they moved to Amsterdam Holland and their life started feeling normal again. The Frank family soon had to go into hiding in Otto’s business building in secret annex. After 2 years of hiding with 2 other families they were found and all transported to different concentration camps. Anne was transported …show more content…
Otto had been building the secret annex for a while in case they had to go into hiding. When the franks went into hiding they went with one other family and later on one more person joined them so they a total of eight people living in the secret annex. The annex was fairly spacious; Anne and her sister slept in a room together and each family had a dining room\living room, a bathroom and a main living room where all the families would stay at and enjoy eachothers company. The annex was secretly concealed by a bookcase that acted as a door and once the door was open it was a step down and to the left was a flight of stairs that would take you to . the multiple rooms of the annex.
