I think understanding and answering this question is very important. Teens are usually on the internet every day I know I am, but I try to not let it control me. The internet does have its advantages to getting in contact with family or friends who live quite a far distance from you. In all actuality we just need to come together as friends and be there for one another when it comes to social media so that way no one is being bullied or put in harm.
The internet has brought many people closer and many apart. Technology has it pros an cons, it can help people when it comes to seeking for justice, solving a crime, but like I said it does have its cons when it comes to harming teens or children. Social Media was brought into our century once internet started becoming popular. A recent study shows that “ Chiefs of Police found nearly 96 percent of departments use social media in some form, and 80 percent reported it had helped solve crimes.” As you read that true statement, we can tell that it does put in some good use to cases. Another study tells that “ Provo Police Department, Lt. Matt Siufanua said using Facebook allowed detectives there to quickly spread word two weekends ago about a 13-year-old boy who was taken by his non-custodial father to Mexico.” “We were able to put it on our Facebook page immediately and shoot it out,” Siufanua said. “We asked for tips through the public and we were able to get some information back through our Facebook and the information we pushed out.”
