When the data is personal information law has a large role to play in dictating how this information is used and stored. Appendix 3 shows the 8 key principles of data protection from the ICO website [ (Information Commissioners Office) ]. The main point of consideration are that information can only be use for the purpose for which is was collected and also advises that information can only be kept only as long as is necessary to ensure the safety and security of personal information. Another regulation within the law which affects Darchem is ITAR, this is again to do with the secure transmission and storage of information relating to the military. To be ITAR compliant we must have a separate and secure location for all information and data relating to ITAR specified contracts, only authorised listed people may access these files for information, any transmittal of this data must be logged and we must have an approved export licence issued by the government to enable us to receive or transmit any information. All of these measure ensure the safe keeping and security of this data and information. In Darchem as with
