Law enforcement use:
Currently, law enforcement has the power to use a great amount of discretion when dealing with incentivized criminal informants. In the majority of cases involving law enforcement discretion it is for example an individual being caught selling a small amount of drugs but law enforcement offers to let them go without any charges if they give up the name and location of the bigger dealer. The idea behind this is understandable, but it leads to wrongful convictions. The solution for this problem would be requiring law enforcement to gain approval using the information the informant gave. This would need to be done by a judge and would help restore checks and balances throughout the system.
