Concurrently, Reinhard, Levine, and Samis (2012) assert their research shows that it is predicted that African Americans will experience, along with Asian Americans and Hispanics a higher awareness of individuals with chronic conditions, shorter hospital stays, and limited health services, which will lead to more complications and prevalence of care provided by informal elder caregivers. Though, there is some resemblance amongst elder caregivers, however, there are also disparities in assessments of caregiving prevalent among ethnic groups, at 20.3 percent for African Americans, 19.7 percent Asian Americans, 21 percent for Hispanics, and 16.9 percent for whites according to the NAC and AARP (2015).
