How did Jordan, Myrtle, and Daisy influence the role of Women throughout the Great Gatsby? Jordan is Daisy’s longtime friend, Myrtle is Wilson’s wife, and Daisy is Tom’s wife. Who is Jordan? Jordan was Daisy’s longtime friend. Jordan was a professional golfer and she cheated to get into her first tournament. Jordan is strong and cynical. Nick finds that attractive but Jordan turned him down because she thinks he is corrupt and decadent like she is. Jordan was dishonest, hard, cool, and deceptive. She represents the privileged upper class women who spend their days being lazy and then partying at night at extravagant parties. Jordan doesn’t make a rich, brilliant match like Daisy, but she does have a more successful life. Jordan is also the focus of Gatsby’s infatuation. She has a thing with Nick Carraway. Next we’re going to talk about Myrtle. Myrtle is married to george, but that doesn't stop her from being Tom’s lover. Daisy Buchanan is Nick’s cousin, and the women that Gatsby loves. Daisy is beautiful and charming, but also shallow, bored, and sardonic. Before the war daisy fell in love with Gatsby, and she promised to wait for him. However, Daisy has this passion for love and when a wealthy man named Tom buchanan asked her to marry her she decided not to wait for Gatsby. After the marriage Tom starting having affairs on Daisy. They also had a daughter named Pammy. Daisy thinks the best thing in the world a girl can be is “a beautiful little fool”. In chapter 5 Nick invites Daisy over for tea, and it turns out this was just an excuse for Gatsby to see Daisy and to reunite with her.
