Charles Chaplin's Influence In The Film Industry

Influence is something that can have a huge impact on many. It is through observation and training from experts that one can become highly skilled in a craft which can create a large impact on others. In the film-making field, a person could consider the actor-director, Charles Chaplin as an expert through his various films and shorts. His works are enjoyed yet there is something beneficial to one interested in entering the entertainment industry. However, Chaplin did not gain his skills out of nowhere as his movies have been inspired by his poverty-stricken childhood and his mother, Hannah Chaplin. In addition, the learning process is a continous one. As Chaplin learned and was inspored by comedic actor-director, Mack Sennett, he would go onto influence others such as Richard Attenborough. Is it possible for an individual to hold a large impact over a larger audience that can transcend cultural borders? Indian director Bhavni Talwar's 2010 Happi was heavily influenced by Chaplin's the Tramp. Actor, Raj Kapoor also has some inspiration from the actor-director. Finally, is it possible that a definite mark of expertise isn't just creating an influence within their own field but in others?
