Infertility is a significant public health problem in the united states affecting males, females, marital couples and cohabitation couples. Ranging from ages fifteen to forty-four in 1982 to 2010. Commonly used Infertility services were used such as; medical help to prevent miscarriages, advice, testing, and ovulation drugs. Treatments that are used in fertility is the Intrauterine insemination and assist reproductive technology (ART). Assist reproductive technology, is identified to establish a pregnancy, can be defined as treatments that involve handling the eggs and the sperm (Chandra 1). Why such a huge gap in the earlier year of 1998, I believe once the women had children the women naturally set their bodies to correctly respond whereas the nulliparous women had more difficulties in getting to that first stage of being able to conceive.
This specific age group 25-44 is targeted because this age group is mostly likely to use fertility services. Regardless if the relationship between the female or male be marital or cohabitation, most couples prefer cohabitation to marriage. Specific questions were asked by NSFG, Questions such as; What’s the highest education reached? Are you currently dealing with infertility? What’s your race? What poverty level are you at? What’s your marital status? Notice none of these questions asked are health related nor are they asked to explain their medical history. Why is it that women that have a higher education and live a wealthy life style deal with infertility? Having a higher education opens the range of services that can be performed.
