ROOM #1 – Infant Room

Scheduled Activity

The first Activity would be called” Look who I SEE.” This activity well takes place when the infant is fed and changed and is in a calm mood. While holding an infant in front of a mirror so, they can see themselves. (Talk to Infant and Toddler Activities: Retrieved from http://www.cengage.com/resource), the child, tries to get the baby to focus on his or hers image in the mirror. Call the infant name, make different sounds. Erik Erikson theory identifies this stage as trust vs. mistrust. This activity will encourage social-emotional skills. Also, it will be development language and communication development.

The second activity in the infant room will be called, Fingerplays and Footplays Fun and Learning. This activity began by singing the song Where is Thumbkin while singing the song you are touching the infant's finger or foot. Researchers support this activity of stimulation by moving, singing and making faces. This activity enhances and infants physical, cognitive, and socioemotional development

One particular item in the infant room would be rocker chairs; I suggest that the city council put in consideration for the infant room. Rocking and infant give the infant a sense of security and comforting. Which help to develop a sense of trust, which will contribute to developing relationships with others throughout their life

This program will assist the parents to motivate their infant developmental stages. As indicated in Erikson's theory (Erikson's (1996) Theory of Psychosocial) If the care the infant receives is consistent, and reliable, the child can display trust.
