November is here and the holidays are upon us. After all of the excitement of Halloween, we are now ready for the company of family and friends as Thanksgiving and Christmas are not far off. Our class said goodbye to our good friend Quentine who moved up to Toddler classroom!
A big Happy Birthday to Nathaniel who will turn 1 on November!
In this classroom the babies will not only be cared for by our lifelong experienced teachers with feedings, changes and nap times, they too will be engaged in signing, reading stories, doing fun art work and learn through play,

The learning Center displays a positive Christian environment. The elements of the infant room support them developmentally through having an environment where each infant has their own sleeping space. According to Freeman, Decker & Decker (2013) children should be able to rest comfortably and undisturbed. The infant room is divided into two rooms as the children are separated by ages. This is done for safety reasons as well as developmental.…

In each country, each individual family has different values, traditions, beliefs, social habits and expectations in their own ways. However, the most important fact for parents, caregivers, and teachers is the need to focus on positive child guidance based on each situation that affects child behavior. Also, positive guidance not only enhances academic progress in children’s need, but also prepares children to succeed in control behavior in their whole life. Positive guidance can be used to support young children between three to five years to learn, understand, and follow up in a positive manner. There are many theories supporting my philosophy; however, Lev Vygotsky, Jean Piaget, and Urie Bronfenbrenner theories are enough instruction to support my philosophy paper.…

My three-year goal is to get an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education so that I can become either a preschool teacher or a teaching assistant in an elementary school, preferably in the Glendale Unified School District. Preschool Teachers educate and care for children, usually ages 3 to 5, who have not yet entered kindergarten. They teach reading, writing, science, and other subjects in a way that young children can understand. During my research, I have found that teachers in Arizona are one of the lowest paid in the United States. The median wage for a preschool teacher in Arizona is $23,560/yr.…

Three quality indicators that I observed at The “ABC” Center were as the promotion of individual social/emotional development, adult-child ratio and responsive relationships between children and teachers. I observed the promotion of social and emotional development through teacher intervention. One child was having a temper tantrum in the classroom after outdoor time. The teacher got down on his level and spoke very calmly to him, just letting him cry for a bit and then started to work on getting him to express what was upsetting him. The teacher then reassured his emotions and feelings while offering possible solutions.…

Copple and Bredekamp (2009) discuss different ways that developmental appropriate practice can be achieved in a classroom. Some of these practices include primary caregiving, continuity of care, one-on-one interactions, communication with the baby, sensory environment, play spaces, maintaining routines, and more (Copple & Bredekamp, 2009). During the observation I was able to observe some of these practices. When it comes to the primary caregiving and continuity of care Copple and Bredekamp (2009) state that there should be continuity of care so that all the infants and parents can form positive relationships with the caregivers. The caregiver should also get to know the baby and family so that they can better respond to the infant’s needs…

The process of finding an article of interest begins by opening the Internet and going to a general website where one can conduct a common search. The concept of professionalism in educators is complicated and multidimensional. Just like other professions, teaching “has its own unique set of ethical concepts and professional values which define and frame ethically responsible conduct” (Maxwell & Schwimmer, 2016). Discussing about professionalism helps educators to explore the core values and ethical obligation of teaching (Maxwell & Schwimmer, 2016). Qualities of professionalism varies among educators as everyone has different understanding and values towards professionalism. In my opinion, professional educator should be educated, experienced, and committed to ongoing professional development.…
