Infant Heart Gala

As we were preparing for the heart gala and the volunteers were arriving, I look over and see Henry beating on a base drum with a drum stick. He, his twin brother Ben and his older sister Emily are all playing without a care in the world as their parents run around organizing the set up. Susan, dressed very nicely for the occasion, comes over to the volunteers and thanks us all for our time and efforts with the gala. As the gala begins Susan walks on to the stage past the keyboard and guitars and stops at the mic. She begins by thanking everyone for coming and says “we don’t always think of children when we think of heart disease.” Susan then beings to state many facts about infant heart deficiencies without any note cards.
