According to Morrie Schwartz, “Love wins. Love always wins.” (Albom 40&52). Mitch Albom has loved Morrie ever since he was his professor back in college. That is the main reason why he wrote a book about Morrie’s life. Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom was a book about what Morrie thought the true meaning of life was. We learn about his younger days when he would go out and dance because that was what he loved to do. We saw how all of the students loved him. Especially Mitch Albom, he was his favorite student. Morrie really shows Mitch things about his life that he needs to change. We definitely see his motivation change through the book from beginning to end.

A few themes from the story are relationships, love, and purpose. Relationships play a great role in life, especially for Mitch. He has an amazing relationships with Morrie. That relationship single handedly means the world to him. They may have lost touch along the way, but they eventually found their way back to each other. Morrie shows Mitch that there is no reason to be afraid of death or wish that it didn’t exist. It happens to everyone, so why worry? “Death ends a life, not a relationship.” (Albom 174). Morrie also shows Mitch that he needs to love. He needs to change his priorities and care more about Janine than solely his job. “The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in.” (Albom 52). Mitch realizes that he really needs to change the way he goes about things. He needs to show that he cares more than just thinking he cares. And purpose is a big one.
