In Harper Lee’s Novel “To Kill A Mockingbird” we see injustices through the small town of Maycomb. The main example I found in the story was social inequalities. How people will hate the class below them and how even a negro can feel sorry for a member of the lower class. Also how the subject of social inequality has changed from the time the book was written to now. Social inequalities will never go away. It’s a way of life; it 's how you are raised.
In the 1930’s class inequality was at a low. Classes were mostly in the same boat. Since the stock market crashed in the Great Depression the rich lost a lot of money and the economy plummeted. It was at the end when Tom had the stand he says “I felt right sorry for her she seemed to try more than the rest of them.”(lee,197) A black male who is considered one of the lowest of the low because he is black and crippled. HE feels sorry for a lower class member and it is shocking for the jury that a white women could be considered less than a black male. Capitalism make it so every single person has a chance to succeed in the world. The Upper class already has an advantage in this situation that america has created. The upper class has startup money so they can start there own buisness and then give the kids money so they can start up and be successful. A person I think of is donald trump for when he said “My Father gave me a small loan of a million dollars” What is small about the word million donald. When the Lower class will have to work odd jobs and try and gain enough money to try to see if there idea will prosper in the eyes of the american
