I will never know what series of events preceeded this disparity between genders. I will never know why girls are the ones to back down in the hallway games of chicken. Perhaps it stemmed back from the hunter-gatherer days. No, that is much too ancient to reasonably exist in the modern day. What contributed to the inequality in these school halls? Maybe it’s-- OOF! I stood up to see another 7th grader, a boy, rise and glare at me before stalking away. I was dumbfounded. He barreled into me while I was busy with my thoughts, except he saw me coming, and expected me to move? As incredulous thoughts buzzed through my head, I sighed and plopped down for class.
