We hear that America is the land of the free, and that it is a place governed by the citizens of this country for the citizens of this country. Furthermore, we are taught as children the idea that no matter what race, gender, or sex you are that we could aspire to be whatever we desired in life. Alternatively, however, that telltale proves to be distorted in America due to prejudice based upon the very factors claimed to be nonessential but it is still an ideal goal of which Americans live and fight to acquire. Additionally, enduring hopeful and brave American people elect a person who represents them and support the up-hill reformation of this country into the land of the free entirely. Continuing for years to protect the freedom of this country the United States warred against the Soviet Union and their Communism. However, our president doesn’t seem to take regard for the diversity of people and their contributions that make up this great country. For example, at the start of Trump’s presidency he Placed a ban on immigrants from several Muslim-majority countries, he also meddled with the LGBT community by attempting to ban transgender Americans from serving in our military. Most disgustingly, he threatened to force Mexico to fund the building of a wall to prevent themselves from entering America, saying “I would build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great wall on our southern border and I’ll have Mexico pay for that wall"(Diamond, CNN.com). With a large amount of disapproval from American citizens, the Trump administration proclaimed their plan to discontinue the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) put in place by our previous president, Barack Obama which was a status that reprieved many undocumented immigrants called Dreamers for ,up to two years if they were under the age of 31 on June 15, 2012, came to the U.S. before turning 16 and lived in the country since June 15, 2007 with the years running concurrently. Dreamers had to possess a high school diploma/GED certification, be honorably discharged from the military, or still be in school, and could not have a criminal record. On Easter Sunday of 2018 Trump’s administration announced that DACA was off the table, ordering an immediate deportation of over 800,000 immigrants who knew nothing and nowhere but America.
