An education institution is an accredited facility where children receive a formal education to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to excel as an adult. As citizens of the United States we have the right to equal education no matter our race, ethnicity, religion or economic status. However, Clayton County Schools and many other predominately Black schools in Georgia do not receive the same education that is provided to their white counterparts. Multiple studies and research has reported the inequalities of America education systems. From these studies we have learned that in lower income and minority families have less access to early childhood education than other children.

Georgia’s School System perpetuates racial and economic inequalities. This can account to the fact that Clayton County receives about 20 percent less in expenses per student compared to more economically and racially diverse counties such as Gwinnett or Fulton County. In addition, Clayton County is ranked the highest for having the worst teachers and facilities in Atlanta Metro Area. Thus, the teachers that serve lower income and minority youth are usually under paid, over worked, and inexperienced; reason being, is that minorities and lower income students are three times more likely to be taught by a first year teacher than compared to white and higher income students. Therefore, teachers that serve impoverished communities are uncultivated, and lack the skills, knowledge, and experience as their counterparts serving in more racially and economically diverse communities. Consequently, the overall quality, credentials and education of those teachers are inadequate; as a result the lower income and minority students are denied equal
