The issues of inequality and sexism in the film are never addressed; however, they are not hard to recognise. Take, for example, the scene after David witnesses the car accident. It is a continuous shot, with no music playing, just David running between the two vehicles checking to make sure everyone is alright. After David checks on both drivers of the cars, it shows him making a call to the emergency dispatchers about the accident. As the scene changes, and emergency personnel are now on site, a voice over of David talking to a police officer begins. It can be heard that David is getting frustrated talking to the officer; eventually leading him to question whether he is actually a police member, or an agent working for the bureau (48:47).
