Industrialization Sweeps the Nation
The Industrialization period was a big turning point for the United States. Throughout the Industrialization period many different things occurred. Urbanization became popular due to more jobs being offered in the city. The population of rural areas went down, while the urban population began to increase. Immigrants began to come at a heavy flow because the other countries had heard about the great things happening to America. The immigrants wanted a new life so they set sea to a new life in the United States. If the inventions weren’t created half of our world wouldn’t exist, nearly everything would disappear because all of the inventions created then are just more up to date. There was also an increase in new forms of transportation. Some of the inventions even brought about new forms of entertainment, like the “kinetoscope invented in 1897 by Thomas Alva Edison.”(Document 2) The kinetoscope was a motion picture viewer which made it possible for people the watch videos and/or movies. Another invention that was created by Thomas Edison was a vote recorder, which would help keep track of the poll when citizens would vote. Many forms of transportation were created during the Industrial time. One form of transportation that was created was the railroad systems. The railroads brought about many positive effects like, cheap and fast travel, and the ability to transport goods across the United States. In 1896 Henry Ford began creating forms of automobiles. Ford eventually ended up creating an automobile with interchangeable parts.(Henry Ford, history channel). Many of the things that were invented during the Industrialization period are tools that some of us use in our daily lives. Most inventions were created by rather intelligent people.
