With this in mind, both authors might agreed that children often faced unfair treatment and were prone to suffer from poor health conditions during work.

Some parents like John Meishell case believed that the practice of child labor allows children to be independent by supporting their family wages. Others like Bulliet and Hine viewed child labor as cruel punishment due to the way factory owners treated them.
