It is apparent all across our globe and is the main reasons for countries and united organizations. Nationalism can be good in some cases, leading to loyalty and an overall sense of pride for your country, but it can often times voyage into more extreme cases where you view any nation that is not your own as lesser. Extreme nationalism is present in our own country presently and was the spark that ignited the first world war. After the defeat of Napoleon's tyrannic conquering of a majority Europe, the previous monarchs gathered in what is known as the Congress of Vienna. They divided Europe into equal sections, to ensure that no ruler would have more control than the others. When dividing land, they were precise and ensuring that every monarch would rule equally. This caused small sections of countries to be poorly represented in their new border. In Austria-Hungary, a small section of Serbia was placed into their new found borders. For those who were Austrian and Hungarian that was a miniscule concern, however, the Serbians were poorly represented in their new country and desperately wanted to be within all Serbian borders again. The Serbians pleaded to be moved back to their previous borders, but even a small shift in land control was seen as unfair.
