11-10-16 The Footprint of the Industrial The Industrial Revolution had a great impact on the world in both positive ways, and negative ways. The negative impacts left on the world, from the Industrial Revolution, outweighed the positive and damaged our environment, animal production, and technology. The environment changed over the course of the Industrial revolution. The world saw a huge increase of population which led to the consumption of natural resources. Intensive animal farming or industrial livestock production, is a present-day form of intensive farming that refers to the keeping of poultry, cattle and fish at higher stocking densities than is generally the case with other forms of animal agriculture. There are issues regarding whether factory farming is considerable and ethical. “...they would come all the way back from Europe old sausage that had been rejected, and that was moldy and white-it would be dosed with borax and glycerin.” (Jungle)This process would usually happen during the night when all the government inspectors left and only a few workers were there. “There would be meat that had tumbled out on the floor, in the dirt and sawdust, where workers, had tramped and spit uncounted billions of consumption germs….These rats were nuisances and the packers would put poisoned bread out for them; they would die, and then the rats, bread, and meat would go into the hoppers together.” (Jungle) The food conditions of meat production were truly awful during the Industrial Revolution. Almost 90% of American adults use a cellphone and 67% of adults check their phones for alerts, text messages, and reminders even when there phone isn’t ringing or vibrating. That is how addictive people have become to their cellular devices. “Each day in the United States, over 8 people are killed and 1,161 injured in crashes that are reported to involve a distracted driver.’’ (U.S Department of Health and Human Services) Most of they distracted driving is caused by someone simply looking down at there phone for 1 second. Not only does cellphones cause millions of car wrecks, but they also can lead some health problems.
