I am writing to apply for the twelve-month Industrial Placement working at PepsiCo in the Gatorade Sport Science Institute (GSSI) as part of your Research & Development team. I am passionate about the nutritional sport science industry and seek to gain experience as I aspire to pursue a career in this field. Currently, I am studying BSc (Hons) Sport & Exercise Science with a Year in Industry at Nottingham Trent University.

This vital experience has confirmed my desire to want to follow the chosen career plan and has helped me grow in confidence in my abilities to test, monitor and provide feedback to individuals. Likewise, it has motivated me to apply for an industrial placement at PepsiCo, where I can be part of an international company and contribute to new research in a fast and growing industry.
Being part of the team at GSSI in an industrial placement would be a fantastic opportunity since PepsiCo is a worldwide company and leads research in wide range of areas in the food and drink industry. I am particularly interested in a study which was done by the GSSI in July 2015 on how dietary nitrate enhances total work done in sprints during the intermittent sprint test but also declines cognitive function in reflecting typical work patterns team sports. I would relish the opportunity to put the skills I have learnt from my studies into practice with GSSI and further develop my skills to contribute to research & development to the 4 main roles which are; Service, Research, Education & Innovation.
