Three Possible Careers

There are many things you should take into consideration when job searching. In this paper I will take three possible careers and evaluate them on different scale levels. My major for now is Psychology. I choose this field because I enjoying helping people. I do believe I will go far in this career field but I know I should have more options. The other field I will research is the Information Technology field of study. My three possible career choices are Industrial-Organizational Psychologist, Information Security Analyst, and Computer Support Specialists. According to The Bureau of Labor and Statistics the median annual wage in 2012 was $46,420. The lowest 10 percent earned $27,620, while the top 10 percent earned $77,430. ("Home: Occupational Outlook Handbook: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics") For those that work with companies they may receive full benefits like, medical insurance, sick leave, and paid vacations. This career is great if you are willing and like to solve problems daily, and have strong computer knowledge.
In the IT field there is a growing number of cyber security jobs one of them is Information Security Analyst. In this profession Information Security Analyst main purpose is to maintain the security and integrity of a company’s data. With the growth of cyber-attacks many companies hire Information Security Analyst. They don’t sit and wait for an attack with a company, they also monitor the organization’s networks for security breaches, install software like firewall, Prepare reports that document security breaches, plan and carry out an organization’s way of handling security, and much

Even with your degree you still need to have at least five years of related work experience. Also like Computer support specialists you will need to take continue education course to stay a step ahead of the cyber-attacks. In order to be in the high pay bracket your job may require you to have an information security certifications that can help you to advance to a chief security officer of that company. The work experience and education will pay off in your salary. Which can range from $49,960 to $135,600. The job outlook was at 37 percent in 2012 and is growing.
Society for Industrial organizational psychology would describe Industrial-organizational psychology is the scientific study of the workplace. ("What is I-O?") They focus on the relationship between people and the workplace. The studies include job satisfaction, personnel training and progress, worker efficiency, and collaboration between humans and machines.
