A new study has revealed that induced labor does not increase the risk of a woman having a child with autism. Research further revealed that the greater risk of a child born after labor induction, of having autism, is actually related to other medical, or genetic factors experienced by the mother. This means that the medication for induced labor should not be considered as the cause of autism, rather the medical or biological complications resulting in the need for induction. Dr. Daniel Coury, a researcher at Ohio State University, says further that, “The great majority of children with autism have not been the product of an induced labor; we still don't know all the causes of autism."
