The fifth and most current stage I am in is the “Individuative-Reflective Faith” stage, and this happens in early adulthood. I started thinking critically about my faith when I took confirmation in 10th grade. I think I was fortunate enough to have church leaders in my life who wanted me to question my faith, and find what it meant to me. Early adulthood was when things really started to kick off. I was on my own, I wasn’t being forced to go to church, I could discover what was a right fit for me. I definitely don’t have the same beliefs as what I was taught growing up, but I can appreciate the process. I understand that others have different ideas about things, and it’s okay.
