The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires that a continuum of placement options be available to meet the needs of students with disabilities. This means that there are multiple options to consider when including Isabel in the general education classroom. To start off I believe that there first needs to be a relationship and guidelines formed between the student, teacher, special education teacher, parents, and principle and staff of the school. Without being prepared and having an established relationship the student will not thrive within the school and not exceed educationally.
