This ensures confidentiality and adheres with legislation under the Data Protection Act (1998). This states that :- ‘A person must not knowingly or recklessly, without the consent of the data controller— (a)obtain or disclose personal data or the information contained in personal data, or (b) procure the disclosure to another person of the information contained in personal data’.
The service user’s identity is also under protection according to the Human Rights Act (1998). The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) (2017) states that:- ‘Under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, individuals have a right to respect for their private life’.
Anonymity is also outlined within the NHS codes of practice, it is important to recognise that if the service user’s personal information was made available, it could fall into the wrong hands, leaving them vulnerable to abuse or abuse.
This care plan includes the people involved in the multidisciplinary team and outside cooperating agencies, such as the service users chiropodist and G.P- this ensures that the specific needs of the service user are met effectively. It is stated that the district nurse is to administer the service user's insulin, in accordance with the NHS Good Practice Guidance, as it requires a specialist technique (Good Practice Guidance, 2016). It is noted that the service user will be
