Front man Jack Antonoff, member of the Grammy award winning band Fun, led his side project, the Bleachers to the well know club The Label. It was their first time headlining in Charlotte, North Carolina this past June. I waited in line for four hours alongside my best friend to obtain the ultimate concert-goers dream, the front of the mosh pit. From there I was able to experience the band up close and personal and I did not dare miss a thing. The band had a unique stage presence along with very unique sounds and styles. If you were to hear one of their songs on the radio you would immediately know it was them and start singing along, just like you would with a catchy 80’s song. Antonoff has accomplished things his former bands, Fun has yet to and Steel Train never did. It was a great move on his part to branch out and expand his musical creativity and share it with the world through his band’s new album, Strange Desire. All the songs are interpreted in their own way, whether you chose to drown yourself in the youthful scene or become entranced with the love that is portrayed, it is surely an album that will define the sounds of your summer. The songs they write put people in a sentimental mood and give off a positive sensation, much like songs of the 80’s did. Listening to the album makes you want to throw away your iPhone and go experience it firsthand because it’s too good not to. The best part is that the band sounds exactly the same live as they do on the recorded
