Before attending this event, I already had some background knowledge about India’s culture and society due to my high school education and my personal interest towards this subject. The way that certain people responded towards this incident, mostly the males, was no surprise as many of them consider a women’s place to be in the house and if they are out and about then she needs to be “taught” a lesson. This just shows how closed minded many of these men are, they need to realize that what they do to women can damage them physically and mentally.
