Having quality tools will more time efficient and will cost the customer less money and you will save more time. As a corporate mechanic some of the “State of the Art Equipment” is already on hand. In my opinion, the most of the public is somehow “brainwashed” to believe that expert car repair service can only be obtained from a real service shop with plenty of bays and excellent customer service. “Dependable and Honest,” Is my philosophy, setting the price could be challenging. In my opinion, I do not recommended that you should charge by the hour when you are working independently, rather than charging for the job. Start by handling each job by checking the labor prices of local shops when deciding on what the customer’s automotive needs are. The statement could not be any truer. As working for a corporate there is usually a middle person that directly treats with customers. One bad thing as being independent is that you are working directly with the customer and you are solemnly responsible for all that you do. One thing that sticks to me is do not do work for your friends or Family, this could be costly in the future because you are doing your work relatively cheap or even sometimes you are obligated to do it for almost free.
