Independent cycling is a key milestone in children's development. A skill which is usually developed between the ages of 3-8. Independent cycling could go on to improve the learners motor skills, improved fitness and increase self-confidence. This review looks at the importance of improving a child’s fundamental movement skills (FMS) at a young age and how it may lead to increased levels of moderate to vigorous physical activity (PA) throughout the day.
