Now, i am going to give my review about “An Inconvenient Truth” movie. This documentation movie is about the former Vice President from United States of America which is showing the slides about Global Warming in which he claimed that he had showed it at least a thousand times to many people all around the world. Pretty amazing feat that a person could accomplish. But does this movie really show how good his slides is?

We will be talking about the first few minutes of the movie. The first few minutes showed that a man, giving some humours and then showing some cartoon slides about the global warming which is really taking attention from the audience. But, this lack something, the introduction. We only know that the man showing the slides is

He took all the data of global warming from all around the world. Giving asssumptions and projecting the future which is very great for our education. Showing how the glacier in the past and the condition of the same glacier in the present really gives us the idea on how far that the earth has changed in a short time. It makes us realize about what we have done in this few years and made us think on how we could prevent global warming so that the earth will be back to what it was hundred of years ago. However, although the movie should be very educating, the presentation that was delivered in this movie gives a very long explanation in a monotonous way to deliver. That means, if this movie is played in the school, it would be giving a very realistic description about global warming since all the student will be seeing the global warming in their dreams. I guess we should blame Al Gore’s melodious voice for …show more content…
I do not know what connection do that have with global warming, maybe only Al Gore and the God that knows. Even though like that, the movie is very emotional, they really did a good job on making this movie. This movie also motivate us to make earth a better place to live.

I do not know why political aspect should be mentioned in this movie. Wait, maybe that was because Al Gore was the vice president of the united states? But I do not think that it was necessary because we should be viewing the global warming from scientific way. It will help us finding how we could prevent the global warming from going any further. Anyway, their explanation about the truth that happen with industry corporation that do not care about the world and only care about profit is really brave. I appreciate that. But, they only explained it, and not doing anything about it. It was really an anti-climax.

At the end, there are tips given on how we can help prevent global warming. That was very good. The cinematic view of the places around the world that get the effect of global warming is also giving a plus to this

In “Why Bother?” Michael Pollan describes how underwhelmed he was by Al Gore ’s request at the end of, “An Inconvenient Truth.” Pollan was almost insulted at the fact that all he was being asked to do the after watching the film was to change a light bulb. In an attempt to expose the poverty and limited opportunities of poorer class citizens in the American economy, Ehrenreich utilizes personalized anecdotes to demonstrate the workers’ struggles. By discussing her temporary experience in the workforce, Ehrenreich provides compelling examples of her social experiment to promote awareness of the lower class situation. Specifically, Ehrenreich attempts to convince the reader that it is more difficult for a person to exhume themselves from poverty than previously believed. Relying on the sympathy of the reader, she immerses herself into the life of a poor-class citizen and conducts experiments of her own design in which she believes she does all she can to succeed with minimum wage jobs. Furthermore,…

Mark Bittman, author of the article “The Aliens Have Landed” published on the New York Times April 2, 2014 issue, argues that we need to take action to stop climate change. Bittman begins to support his argument by comparing our ignorant behavior towards climate change to the “retreating French” during World War II. He then informs the recent news from the Panel on Climate Change to emphasize the negative effects, and sarcastically compares them to aliens invading Earth. He next proposes a public works project and provides several examples of what can be done to start addressing climate change before it is too late. The author’s purpose is to…

Kevin Williamson writes in his essay “Apocalypse Soonish: The End Times Roll On” regarding the evergoing discussion of climate change and humanity 's’ love for apocalyptic drama. Williamson is an excellent writer who knows how to engage the reader with humor and wry comparisons as well as point out some obvious trends within the past that show how dramatic civilization can be. However, his frequent disregard for the consequences of the warming 's effects, inability to keep a concise argument and tone, and the recurrent misinterpretation of scientific findings, which makes it difficult to take his paper seriously. In “Apocalypse Soonish” Williamson compares previous hypotheses and estimations of the earth’s future to current studies and media portrayals of climate change.…

In it, Moore places the blame off of himself entirely and onto others. This is totally inappropriate coming from someone with as much media and potentially political power as him. Just as it was previously said, Moore is very good at presenting ruthless complaints, but providing absolutely no solutions to the complaints given. This is no exception. Moore should be trying to put his time, energy, and especially money into climate change research and global warming awareness, but instead he plows his way into the fourth category: social…

They bring up the fact that all of the problems we’ve had in the past, have been solvable even if people thought they couldn’t be. Global warming is the issue that we are facing today, and just like before people don’t believe that it will ever be solved. Levitt and Dubner round off the paper stating that “…it is an incredibly large and challenging problem. But, as history has shown us again and again, human ingenuity is bound to be even larger.” I believe this really rounded the paper off…

The authors ethos is credible and give us an honest ethical dilemma in his statement: “Global warming is a moral crisis, too, if you place any value on the rest of creation. It’s a moral question, finally, if you think we owe any debt to the future.” (McKibben 446). He is basically using ethics simply and straightforward by telling the audience if you care about all living creatures and the humankind then you better act now in stopping global warming before it’s too late and your future kin are stuck with trying to fix this global issue in a much severe…

The video “The Most Terrifying Video you’ll Ever See” by Greg Craven is a video that discusses whether there should be significant action taken on climate change. Craven addresses one of the main problems with the climate change debate, which is that it has become a long bitter argument about whether climate change is real and if it is caused by human development. He is arguing that it doesn’t matter if climate change is real or not, significant action should be taken to further prevent or combat climate change because when faced with uncertainty about the future taking action is the only reasonable choice. I disagree with Craven because there should be a greater focus on information and facts when it comes to making a decision about climate…

    Climate Of Doubt Analysis

Frontline’s Climate of Doubt was a compelling film showing how climate change has become more of a political issue than an environmental one. The film followed correspondent John Hockenberry around the United States as he interviewed several individuals that included scientific specialist, conservative republicans and liberal democrats who may or may not have been holding a position in office at that point in time. He asked simplistic questions surrounding the issue of climate change that could have been answered by anyone who was able to comprehend their own beliefs, however some individuals refused to answer the question directly and the pattern seen behind their response seemed to be associated with their political choices. It was clear to see that throughout the film there was a trend occurring. Republicans refuse to believe that human-made climate change is an issue and the real question is why they believe such lies.…
