This was the year of 2016, and this was the year that my life changed; I was forced to grow up and learn how to be more independent. The first step to my seeking of independence was turning 16 years old and getting my driver’s license. This meant I was finally able to go out on my own and not rely on others to take me places anymore. There are many challenges that follow enrolling in college classes and with each challenge comes a weight students have to carry for the semester. A few of the weights students have to carry are the college bills, class work, and planning around class time. Students have to be careful not to carry too much or else they will be crushed. A student can think that they signed up for a light load, but after the first day of class discover they signed up for more than they can carry. This report requested by Michele Bartosek pertains to the Alpha Kappa Psi Career Fair, hosted at Central Michigan University (CMU). While attending my first CMU career fair, I was not actively seeking an internship, but rather gaining experience and building my network. When I walked into Finch Fieldhouse, I did not expect there to be 143 tables worth of future employers, all squeezed into one gym. Although the Alpha Kappa Psi career fair was extremely overwhelming and stressful, it was beneficial to go as a freshman to understand what I can improve on at the next career fair. I understand the importance of many potential employers attending this event at this venue to maximize the opportunity for the students, however having so many people…

I am writing to you today to inform you about my experience at the Sothern New Hampshire University Internship Fair held on campus on Wednesday February 17th, 2016. I intend to talk about my overall experience, what I noticed/ learned while there, as well as how the Internship Fair helped to further develop my articulation of the SNHU Business Competency, Professional Communication as well as my overall professionalism in a competitive business environment. First off, I wanted to inform you that I chose this experience due to the fact that I personally felt as though it would better enhance my articulation of the school of business outcomes, as well as further to enhance my professionalism in a competitive business environment more so than just having a meeting with a Career Development Center staff member. I yearned to view the world in a different perspective. I aim far beyond just experiencing the world first hand, seeing it through multiple lenses, and watching how it runs in the background. In fact, what I desire is to see where I must stand to give my maximum contribution to the global industry and multicultural understanding--a purpose I know I must serve.
