Holmberg and Jeyaprahaban (2016) explained inclusive education is defined as accommodating all students in a school, irrespective of their strengths or functional need in any area, become part of the school community. Inclusion ends the isolation of special education placement for special education students by placing them in a general education setting with appropriate accommodations and supports within that classroom (Holmberg and Jeyaprahaban, 2016). Differentiated learning connects with all students and provides a number of opportunities to understanding the material. Without individualized instruction, many students become lost in the material presented because it is not tailored to the individualized need of the student (Gaytan, 2010). Lack of individualized education can be particularly detrimental to the subject of math, because each component and element builds on another (Speijer, Peirce, & Doherty, 2016). In 2016, Speijer, Peirce, and Doherty pointed out if the foundation of the first component is absent, then the subsequent components will go lacking as well thus causing a disastrous ripple effect that has no ending in sight. Moorehead and Grillo (2016) explains differentiated learning enables students the ability to grasp concepts in an approach that is best understood using their capabilities. Knowledge constructs continuous confidence that will enable the building of the students skill set (Moorehead & Grillo, 2016). Collaboration between educators allows for positive communication to transpire, generating uncommon ideas to mutual complications. Special education has had negative connotations associated with it, but by allowing the mixture of disabled peers and non-disabled peers to learn collectively this stigma can be minimized. Schools are required to provide access to the general curriculum by giving students with disabilities the opportunity to achieve the same standards as all other students. IDEA stresses the importance of participation of students with disabilities in the general curriculum, thus affording students with a disability the opportunity the same advances as their non-disabled peers.
