Incarceron is a book that is definitely worth the read. This book is suspenseful, fun, and exhilarating. The combinations of the romantic period and futuristic society make an interesting story. This book really grabbed my constant attention from the start, and had me up late almost every night reading it. This book was really the first book in a long time, that has demanded my total attention.
I picked this book book, really quite at random. I was walking through the fiction section of the library, and the interesting print and name on the spin of the book caught my attention. I walked past, but nothing else really caught my eye, so I decided to check it out. I read the inside cover and though it was fascinating, so I started reading. At the end of the period, it was so gripping I couldn’t put it down, so I checked it out.

Characters were easily distinguishable as aloof, cold, assuming, downright cruel, and parasitic. The most impressive thing was how different the personalities of the characters in Incarceron were from the characters in the real world were. The characters of Incarceron were hardened and cruel, while the majority of the characters in the real world were exteriorly polite, but inside were cold and calculating. This difference in characterisation really aided the book in giving you the feel that you were changing locations. The characterisation of Incarceron itself, was interesting. Incarceron as a character was very cold and cruel, just the kind of character everyone hates. The kind of character that laughs at others pain and is always watching and judging. Incarceron’s personality really seemed to subconsciously leech into all the characters trapped in
