Probation is another program used for minor offenses and can provide a mentor to help defendants stay on track. Probation expenses is tremendously different from incarceration. However, I do feel that offenders who commits minor offenses should be given probation instead of confinement. Probation has continued to have a great impact on society, therefore, I feel that non -violent criminals should be given some leniency. If an offender has committed a crime such as murder, rape, or any other serious crimes, they should be held in custody.
