Thousands can die, even more can be hospitalized. All because of lead exposure due to Ed’s Gas Station, Site A. We believe Site A exposed the City of Fairview to lead because the water table flows towards the polluted well, the Gas Station was opened before the lead exposure occurred, and last the path from the gas station to the well does not hinder the flow of groundwater meaning it’s permeable. The purpose of this project was to simulate pollution in an aquifer and to study the elements of safe groundwater. Our group explored many aspects of groundwater. What it is, how it gets underground, how it travels underground, and where groundwater goes.
