The movie The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is a drama/history film that is set during world war two during the Holocaust. Nine year old Bruno and his family move away from their home in Berlin leaving behind all of Bruno’s friends. They are forced to move because Bruno’s father is a commandant in the German army, the new house is located near a concentration camp. Bruno has no friends at the new house and he feels very lonely so he starts to explore, one day while he is exploring he comes across a barbed wire fence and finds Shmuel, a jewish boy his age. They become friends and Bruno is very oblivious to what is going on, and why this friendship could get them in big trouble. Despite the barbed wire fence they start to build a friendship, but never go past their side of the fence. Until one day, Shmuel cannot find his father and Bruno offers to sneak into the camp and help. When they are in the camp they get lead into a gas chamber not having any idea what is going on, and they are both killed.

According to Time one of the major inaccuracies is how oblivious Bruno is to WWll and the Holocaust. He might only be 9 years old but he would at least know the name of the man that runs his country. Also he is old enough to know that the concentration camp is not a game, and that his family does not like Jewish people and he has to have caught up with the situation. It is also very inaccurate that Bruno does not know what a jew is and who Hitler is because that is practically all his parents talk about. Also Bruno is able to dig under the barbed wire fence and sneak in without anyone noticing but that would be impossible to do. Also Shmuel is able to leave very often and sit with Bruno but he would not be able to someone would notice that he was
