In Tough Times Hope Analysis

The title of my artwork is In Tough Times, Hope. Here is a description of my artwork: in the bottom right hand corner, there is the color black, beginning at its darkest and becoming lighter and lighter until it reaches a white. There are many shades of gray throughout the value scale. On the upper right, there is two abstract shapes that are white, red and gray. Pouring from these irregular shapes are blue dots with a touch of orange in them. On the bottom right, there is an area of a teal color. On the top right, there is a large yellow dot. Around that dot, it fades from black to white like on the bottom left. Over the entire piece there are red zig-zagged lines. The elements most obvious in my work are color, line, shape and value. Secondly, I collected my tools. I put white, black, red, blue and yellow onto my pallet. I filled a bowl full of water and chose a brush. I also grabbed a lot of paper towels. Then, using the yellow paint, I painted a yellow circle. I then painted two red zig-zag lines. Around the circle I painted it black, then adding more and more white to the black in my pallet, until I made it go from black to white. I then did the same on the bottom. I painted two irregular shapes on the top using red, then filled it in with gray. From these shapes I made quick strokes using blue paint. I then mixed yellow and red to make orange and put dots in the blue. I added more red zig-zag lines and painted the left, bottom corner teal. I used mixing methods we learned about as well as my knowledge on how value
