Studies have shown that when used consistently and correctly, condoms are highly effective in preventing sexually transmitted diseases during vaginal, oral, or anal intercourse. They are also effective in preventing pregnancy. Abstaining abstinence is an excellent way to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy, however, it is not the only alternative. Condoms can give you the same benefits as abstinence when it comes to the preventions of STD’s or pregnancy. They are just as great for peole who may not neccessairly want to wait for marriage to have sexual intercourse or people who are not neccessairly ready to have chidren. Some of the more famous std’s are Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis, Herpes, HIV/AIDS, and Syphilis.
