Goodall herself starts the essay by stating that she “was taught, as a scientist, to think logically and empirically,” (145) this is how she was raised to learn science without letting anything else cloud her thoughts. “Physics, chemistry, and evolutionary biology can explain the start of the universe and the appearance and progress of life on earth,” (Goodall 149) by finding out that science can prove these different things like the big bang and evolution. By proving these things many scientists and people in general believe that we need to use science to prove everything that we see in the world and the universe. “Science has used modern technology and modern techniques to uncover so much about the formation and development of life-forms on Planet Earth and about the solar system,” (Goodall 148-149) since humans in general can look at the world and decipher it to this extent why does it seem like it is impossible to discover all information about the world. Many people think it is “our human responsibility” to better understand the world around us with science because science is the best way that people can. While these scientists remain stuck with only the thoughts of just dealing with science and not allowing any further hurdles, including religion these scientists can commit crazy feats by just doing their job and that allows us to grow but still has limitations. Some limitations of science are beyond the edges and other things that just feel like they cannot be described by numbers and scientific theory. Goodall refers to some of these things while she is exploring the forests of Gombe. Looking at the world from the lenses of science can allow people to start to understand the world around us from a cold and calculated view. The scientific view of the world allows people to understand more phenomenon, for example we can now understand
